opal glass is a style of decorative glass made in France from 1800 to 1890, when it reached its peak of popularity during the reign Napoleon III in 1850 and 1860. The glass is opaque or slightly translucent, and may appear either white or brightly colored in shades of green, blue, pink, black, lavender and yellow.
