Stained Art Glass Not Cheap Wine Glasses

Art Glass, or Stained Glass, is a unique way to beautify your home or grounds.  Stained glass does not have to be just for windows. By capturing the sun’s natural light any room or  yard space can be enhanced by art stained glass.

Imagine the kaleidoscope of colors and designs in your room or garden as the sun moves from dawn to dusk over the horizon and how your ornaments will dance and capture the sun’s natural light.

A great garden idea might be to create a concrete and stained glass gardened path or stepping stone.  A marvelous mosaic of colors leading to a path to capture the sun at those times of year, or just a perch to sit and enjoy the outdoors.  Creating these designs are fun to do, and so simple you can do it yourself with a regular concrete or trademarked brand called, DiamondCRETE(tm)Garden Stone Concrete, which is special colored.  You can also make wooden molds by doing it yourself or finding them that retailers, wholesalers, and a well stocked arts and crafts store.

Suppose you don’t want to make easy-to-make stepping stone kits, or can’t see yourself at Hobby Lobby, limping down a crafts and art aisle at Wal-Mart or even surfing on the Internet.  Maybe thumbing through books and gazing at hundreds of patterns or instructional books on stained glass garden stones or stained glass ornaments doesn’t cut it for you.  What to do then?  There are hundreds of artists who love doing this stuff and can create garden stones or beautiful stained glass ornaments for you.  All that is needed is an idea.  By glancing through some of the posts on this site, it may stir your imagination or inspire you to create, or model the works of Tiffany or La Farge.  Or just hire someone to do it for you.

From your outdoor perch, you can have wind chimes made of multi-colored glass flashing colors while making wonderful sounds as the wind presses and releases the glasses together and a part amidst a gentle breeze.  Or perhaps the gentle clink of Wine Glasses or goblets together for a well wished toast.  You can have some wine after the work is done, right?

Another idea might be to have three-dimensional stained glass animal and insect life amidst glass flowers.  You could have butterflies, small rabbits, hummingbirds, dragonflies, ladybugs and other creatures to add to patio flowerpots or garden bed.  Or perhaps your bend is more toward Gothic.

If you belong to a church that has grounds you could create and design glass benches to sit beneath a tree.  Or even commission an artist to create a bench and have the parishioners contribute donations for it.  Or even create something smaller as a commemorative.  This idea has surely been adopted by cemeteries and outdoor museums.  If not in your area, why not be the first?

But stained glass is not just about cemeteries or religion.  Although religion feeds into the idea of cemeteries and caring for the deceased – its not about the departed with art, it is about the life, that which was, and is, lived.  Remembrances should be joyful.  Enough said.

With art glass or stained glass can be found infinite ways to decorate or add your own personal character to any space, whether outside or inside the home.  The projects can be big or small.  You are only limited by your imagination.
